Ceremony Bathhouse Expansion Grand Opening
Ceremony Spa is throwing an all-day, all-star Grand Opening Party on Wednesday, December 11th to celebrate our expanded bathhouse! We’ll have amazing Austin musicians like Jon Dee Graham, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Colin and Tammy Gilmore, Mike Nicolai, Cobra Cats, and DJ Megatron. All day, you can enjoy free access to the sauna and cold plunge, plus free yoga and soundbath sessions. There’ll be a non-alcoholic elixir bar by Altar Native Bar, tacos from Flavia’s kitchen, cacao from Third Eye Cacao, and a selection of beer, wine, and local vendors just in time for holiday shopping. Music and market are 4-11 PM.
You’ll also get the chance to check out a special Artist Talk by Laura Maltz Gossen at 7PM about her work currently displayed at Ceremony, with 50% of all proceeds from art sales going to The Safe Alliance. All donations for beer, wine, and cacao will benefit HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians).
Our expanded bathhouse now features two heat saunas (one for 8 people, one for 16), two cold plunges from local company , SubZeroPlunges, a 6-person hot tub, and a brand-new shower and scrub room with stunning terracotta and blue tiles from local sustainable company Clay Imports Ceremony’s outdoor sauna and cold plunge area has become a community favorite, and with this expansion, we’re making Ceremony the go-to spot for a creative, nature-inspired bathhouse experience in Austin.
Saunas and cold plunges have become super popular because of their health benefits, like boosting energy, circulation, immunity, and skin health, while reducing stress and soreness. Plus, Ceremony’s welcoming vibe gives you the perfect place to unwind and connect with both nature and community.

Laura Maltz Gossen Art Opening: Dec 11 
Laura Matltz Gossen’s landscape paintings begin as compositional sketches, photograpsts and color sketches made while hiking in the Texas hill country. Back in her studio, she paints an amalgam of her sketches, more interested in capturing the feeling of the place than an exact rendering. She uses many layers of paint, allowing organic textures to build upand then scratches some areas with clay tools so the underpainting peeks throught. She is currently working on a series of paintings exploring the Austin Green Belt and Violet Crown Trails.
Laura’s Paintings will hang at Ceremony through the end of 2024. Art Opening December 11. Open house 4-11PM. Artist talk at 7PM Come see!
Buddhist(ish) Book Study and Discussion Group (on hiatus till 2025)
Do you enjoy contemplating the deep questions that come with being human? Where we come from, what it all means, how we can live in a way that is meaningful and peaceful and joyful, how we can cope with the feelings and pressures and tragedies of life? Each Tuesday evening from 6:30-8, Asenath will facilitate a discussion based on Buddhist books from great teachers where we explore these issues and more. A discussion group such as this is one of the best ways to deepen your spiritual life. We will meditate together for half and hour, and then read a chapter together and discuss. Don’t worry if you are dropping in during the middle of a book. Each discussion can be taken independently. You don’t need to have the book or have done any homework. And don’t worry if you think you won’t have much to share. You can participate as much as you like, or just sit back and absorb. Either way will be very beneficial.
